BRISTOL, Tenn. –King College Men's Basketball will close 2012 with a nonconference matchup against the USC Aiken Pacers today, Saturday, Dec. 30. Tipoff is set for 3:00 p.m. Live stats and video will be available.
The Tornado are led by 1,000-point scorer, senior Eddie Piccinini (Orlando, Fla.), who leads the team with 17.0 points per game. The combination of inside-out players Logan Lyle (Unicoi, Tenn.) and Jason Seymore (Powell, Tenn.) who combined to average26.5 points per contest. King is averaging 84.2 points per game as a team while allowing 71.5 to their opponents.
King began the year on a 7-0 run out of the gate and remains undefeated in Conference Carolinas play. They endured their first defeat on the road at Lincoln Memorial University on Dec. 16, 75-68. They are now 7-1 on the season and received votes in the last NABC Division II Coaches' Poll, placing 26th overall.
USC Aiken, a member of the Peach Belt Conference, enters the contest with an overall record of 6-2 and has won their last four games, including a 92-86 victory over Mount Olive College to begin their current stretch. The Pacers hold a 5-0 record at home and are led by sharpshooter Ronald Zimmerman (18.9 ppg, .456 3pt%) and dominant post player, Santoine Butler (28 blks, 7.3 rpg, 13.9 ppg).
King will play one final road contest on Jan. 3 when they jump back into Conference Carolinas play with Barton College. The Tornado will play their next home game at the Student Center on Jan. 5 when they host Belmont Abbey for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
