GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College's Mark Dockery played his way to the NCCAA Division I All-American First Team, as announced by the national office.
Dockery, a senior forward from Nicklesville, Va., was one of 10 players on the first team. He finished the year with a 20.1 points per game scoring average thanks to a school record 141 three-pointers. Dockery started all of King's 34 games on the season as he added a .849 free throw percentage.
He posted single-season program records for points (684), field goals attempted (481), and three-point field goals (141). Dockery also added the King career records for scoring (1,826), three-point field goals (388), three-point field goals attempted (978) and steals (164).
Of the 34 games he scored 20 or more 21 times including a career-best 40 points against Life (Ga.) University which featured a school-record 21 free throws made.
Dockery was a NCCAA All-Mid-East Region first team player selection.
King finished the season 19-15 with a third-place finish at the NCCAA Division I National Tournament after winning the Mid-East Region Tournament.
