GREENVILLE, S.C. - King College was No. 8 in the newest NCCAA Men's Basketball Division I Burbridge Rating, the organization announced.
The Tornado had a rating of 6.917 through Sunday's games. King was No. 5 last week as the Burbridge was 7.222.
The Top-2 teams remained in place with Dallas Baptist (Texas) University at No. 1 again as the Burbridge was 8.5 and Oklahoma Wesleyan University followed. Campbellsville (Ky.) University jumped to No. 3. Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.) University and Indiana Wesleyan University were fourth and fifth, respectively, as each slipped a spot.
King was second among Mid-East region teams with Campbellsville in the Top-5. The next team from the region was Victory (Tenn.) University at No. 18 for a second-straight week. Next was Tennessee Temple University, a spot behind Victory. Mid-Continent (Ky.) University was No. 22 and Bluefield (Va.) College came in at No. 24.
The rating is based on wins and losses, opponents' winning percentage, location of game and opponents' national affiliation.
King closes out the 2010 portion of the schedule Saturday with a 1 p.m. game at Bellarmine (Ky.) University. Bellarmine has the No. 1 ranking in the NABC/NCAA Division II poll.
