BRISTOL, Tenn. - The King College men's and women's basketball teams opened up practice Friday in preparation for the 2010-11 season.
The Tornado held an early morning practice as the team looks to build on a 24-6 record a season ago. The team reached the NCCAA Division I National Championship game as the team finished second nationally.
The season opening weekend for the Tornado comes with a pair of road games Nov. 13 and 14 at Kentucky Wesleyan College and Southern Indiana University.
The Lady Tornado practiced Friday afternoon 28 days before the team hosts Pfeiffer (N.C.) University on Nov. 12. King went to the 2010 NCCAA Division I Women's Basketball National Tournament and finished sixth after winning the Mid-East Region championship with an 18-13 record.
King enters the first season of play as a NCAA Division II member with the 2010-11 campaign.
