Wenger leads King at a pair of races

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The King University cycling team continued their cyclocross season with a pair of races over the weekend. Sydney Wenger led the Tornado on Saturday at the Lees-McRae race on Saturday and then again on Sunday at the Reedy Creek Cyclocross race in Kingsport.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • On Saturday, Wenger took fifth at the Lees-McRae race while Abby Hobbs finished sixth.
  • Kate Dietrich rounded out the team on Saturday with an 11th place finish.
  • The Tornado then had the top three finishers on Sunday in the pro race at the Reedy Creek Cyclocross.
  • Wenger took the title and she was followed by Hobbs who finished runner-up and Dietrich who took third.

UP NEXT

  • The Tornado have two cyclocross races left in the season, first on December 9-10 at the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (SECCC) Championships hosted by Brevard College.
  • King will then compete at the USA Cycling Cyclocross National Championships in Reno, Nev. From January 5-7.
