King takes 3rd at USAC Road National Championships

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The King University cycling team finished their season at the USA Cycling College Road Nationals. The Tornado finished third in the team omnium in Division 2, the highest ever finish for King in the road national championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Kyle Ellis finished seventh in the road race and Fausto Crapiz took 19th.
  • In the criterium, Crapiz finished 17th Alan Edwards finished 22nd, Ellis took 28th and Nolan Tankersley finished 33rd.
  • In the team time trial, King missed the podium by less than one second, taking sixth in the race.

FOR THE FOES

  • Milligan College finished first in Division 2, followed by Piedmont College while the Tornado came in third.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • King finishes third at the USA Cycling Road National Championships, their highest finish at the event in program history.
  • The previous best finish for King was eighth in 2013.
