BRISTOL, Tenn. – As a two-time USA Cycling Road Race national champion, King University cyclist Jennifer Caicedo was selected as a Medica Collegiate All-Star. The team is made up of six riders and they were invited to compete at the North Star Grand Prix held in five cities across Minnesota from June 15-19.
"This is a great opportunity to showcase women's collegiate racing opportunities to the nations racing community and Jennifer is the perfect ambassador for King University and our cycling program," King cycling head coach Alan Sparks said.
A season ago, Caicedo became the first King cyclist to win a USA Cycling national championship, and she repeated this year, winning the road race at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships in Asheville, North Carolina. She will join two other Division 2 riders and three Division 1 riders.
The Division 2 riders along with Caicedo include Amy Benner of Cal State-Channel Islands and Katherine Shields of Wake Forest University, and the Division 1 riders are Kate Buss of Virginia Tech, Janelle Cole from Brevard College and Monica Volk of Penn State.
