King turns in solid performance at home race
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University cycling team hosted their lone event of the fall during the cyclocross season on campus. The Tornado turned in a very solid performance as a team with Drew Bailey taking second place and Kaysee Armstrong took fourth place.
Bailey had an interesting day as he crashed twice, once on the final lap in what were wet conditions after it rained on King's campus most of the day on Friday. However, he fought through the adversity and came in with a second place finish.
In her first cyclocross race at King, Armstrong faced a very deep field on Saturday, coming in with a fourth place finish. The rest of the Tornado team also turned in very solid performances as they earned very valuable points in the race towards the cyclocross conference title.
King will be in action again tomorrow at the Virginia Intermont race that starts at 9:00 a.m. in Bristol, Va.
