MARS HILL, N.C. – Kaysee Armstrong continues to impress as she turned in a couple more to-5 finishes at the Mars Hill University race on Saturday and Sunday. She finished second in the cross country race on Sunday, a day after finishing in the top-3 of the downhill race.
On Saturday, she faced a tough field at in the downhill raced and turned in a solid time to finish in the top-3 at the event. On Sunday, she jumped out to a lead over Brevard College's Erica Zaveta, who has won national championships and raced for the US in professional races. However, due to the way the course was setup, Armstrong got held up, which allowed to catch up and take the narrow victory.
Armstrong will next compete at the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference Mountain Championships on October 19-20 in Brevard, N.C.
