Armstrong, Bailey turn in successful debuts

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Over the weekend, the King University cycling team had two members compete for in scarlet and navy for the first time. Kaysee Armstrong turned in a first place finish in the women's A cross country race, and Andrew Bailey competed in the short track and cross country events at the ETSU race.

Armstrong turned in a dominating performance in the women's category A cross country race, taking first place by more than two minutes over her nearest competitor. The win also marked the first mountain biking win in King University history.

On the men's side, Bailey, a freshmen, turned in a couple of good performances against a tough field at the ETSU race. Bailey competed in the highly competitive men's category A division, and came in with a pair of top-20 finishes in the short track and cross country races.

Selected individuals will compete for the Tornado on October 5 and 6 at the Mars Hill College race in Mars Hill, N.C.
