Andrew Bailey from Piney Flats TN and a senior at 'The Academy at King' has committed to competing as part of the King cycling team for his collegiate career. Drew has been racing for approximately 5 years and is currently a Cat 1 in MTB and a Cat 2 in both Road Racing and CX. He states that his favorite race is the Road Groan which must mean that he is a climber and there is no doubt he is built for climbing.
Bailey plans to major in Biology with the goal of entering medical school upon graduation from King. He states that he is looking forward to the more flexible class schedule that college offers as well as taking some challenging courses. Drew is currently a member of the 'Village Volkswagon' team based in Chattanooga with several current King team members so his transition to the King team will be a natural fit. Bailey has other connections to King as both his mother and aunt are King Alumni.
Coach Kreiss is excited to have Drew join the team stating; "Andrew is a quality young man. He is disciplined and committed to excelling both on and off the bike, in the classroom and as an athlete. He will fit in very well with the positive team culture we have developed at King."
