Podium finish for Tornado at Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - King College opened the road cycling season Saturday with impressive runs at the University of Florida criterium event including a podium finish for a freshman.

Reid Yoder (Hoagland, Ind.) rode to second in his first collegiate race in the "C" division. He led a charge of four Tornado riders into the Top-15. Brad Hughes (Gray, Tenn.) was 12th with David Deere (Bristol, Tenn.) and Casey Stallard (Bristol, Va.) 13th and 15th, respectively.

T.J. Killelea (Chattanooga, Tenn.) was 11th in his first collegiate "B" race, just ahead of teammate Brent Baker (Kingsport, Tenn.) in 15th.

On the women's side, Ellie Ferguson (Knoxville, Tenn.) was ninth overall with Caroline Gentry (Bristol, Tenn.) 13th.

King and the rest of the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference teams wrap up the weekend of action at the University of Florida.
