Mirabal tabbed Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team earned a big series win over the weekend, and Octavio Mirabal got the Tornado off to a great start in the opening game. He tossed a complete game at Limestone College and was selected Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Week.

Mirabal tossed his third complete game of the season, and second straight when he defeated Limestone College 5-2 Friday's series-opening contest. In the game he only allowed two runs on six hits and struck out a career-best nine batters. The junior retired the final 11 batters he faced in the contest, giving the Tornado the victory.

King is in action again on Wednesday when they travel to take on Carson-Newman University. First pitch from Jefferson City, Tenn. is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
