BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University baseball player Ryan Whitt lived up to the expectations this season, garnering second team All-Southeast Region from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). Prior to the season, Whitt was a preseason NCBWA second team All-Region selection before earning the distinction following the season.

Earlier this year, The Brentwood, Tenn., native garnered first team All-Conference Carolinas honors and was selected as a CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree. Whitt lead Conference Carolinas in hitting with a .430 batting average and on base percentage of .507 while ranking second in the league with an on base percentage of .686.

In the southeast region, his batting average ranked second behind first team All-Southeast Region Shane Billings of Wingate who hit .444. His on base percentage was third in the region and he ranked eighth in the region in slugging percentage. Nationally, Whitt ranked 22nd in batting average, 25th in on base percentage and 55th in slugging percentage.

In the middle of the season he had a 16-game hitting streak and closed his career on a 10-game hitting streak.
