Nine Tornado named academic All-ECAC

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Following the completion of the first Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) acrobatics and tumbling season, the league announced their academic all-conference team. King placed nine individuals on the team.

Senior Emily Powers led the way with a 3.98 GPA as she previously earned the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Louise Goodrum Academic Achievement Award for having the highest GPA among teams that qualified for the NCATA National Championships.

Fellow seniors Deanna Coleman, Cassidy Davis and Ashlea Frison also earned academic all-conference honors. Davis carried a 3.85 GPA while Coleman had a 3.53 GPA and Frison finished with a 3.12 GPA.

Maya Fuller has a GPA of 3.18 and fellow junior Courtney Poister Landers carries a GPA of 3.53, earning all-academic recognition. The final three Tornado to earn academic all-conference honors were sophomores Brooke Dodson, Maya Hines and Abigail Keith. Dodson has a GPA of 3.54 while Hines and Keith have GPAs of 3.43 and 3.27, respectively.

To be a member of the ECAC All-Academic team, student-athletes must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and completed one full year at their current institution.
