AZUSA, Calif. – For the first time in program history, the King University acrobatics and tumbling team qualified for the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Event Finals. King qualified in the pyramid event, heats one and three, finishing fifth in heat one and fourth in heat three.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the pyramid heat one, the King group of Tosha Banks, Kate Rivera, Mattie Brown, Emily Powers, Courtney Poister Landers, Maya Fuller, Deanna Coleman and Maya Hines had a start value of 9.80 and finished with a score of 9.50 to take fifth.
- Hawaii Pacific University finished first with a score of 9.90 in pyramid heat one.
- The Tornado group of Sonia Stone, Banks, Cassidy Davis, Powers, Hines, Poister Landers, and Coleman started with a start value of 10.00 and finished with a score of 9.65, taking fourth.
- Hawaii Pacific finished first with a score of 9.80.
