BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University acrobatics and tumbling team continues to set new program benchmarks, and Sonia Stone was recognized after helping the Tornado to a pair of program highs last weekend. Stone was named National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Player of the Week Honorable Mention following her performance over the weekend.
Stone helped King post their first perfect 10.00 score on Saturday in heat three of the pyramid event against Quinnipiac University. Stone later set a program high in the tumbling event, posting a six-element pass score of 9.625.
She also helped King score 91.77 points in the team event, the third highest score in program history. The Tornado nearly set a program best for overall score in the meet for the third straight meet, posting 268.195 points.
King will be in action again when they host top-ranked University of Oregon on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Center Complex.
