BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has named their student-athletes of the month for the month of October and Luis Calderon of the men's soccer team took home honors this month.
Calderon led the King University men’s soccer team in assists for the month of October and tied for the team lead in goals during the month. The senior recorded two goals and three assists throughout the month of October. He scored King’s only goal on October 7 against Chowan and then recorded two assists in King’s 7-0 rout of Milligan College on October 18. Calderon finished the month out strong as he scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win on October 25 against Carson-Newman University and recorded an assist in a 2-1 win over Barton College on October 28. The Tornado men’s soccer team won their last three games of the season and Calderon was an important piece in King’s strong finish.
