BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has named their student-athletes of the month for the month of October, and Sydney Wenger of the cycling team took home honors this month.
Wenger’s month included many highlights, however, it was headlined by her performances at the USAC National Championships on October 20-22. The junior led the Tornado in the individual omnium, taking fourth place overall in the event. She took fifth place in the dual slalom, 11th place in the cross country race and 15th place in the short track race that weekend. In addition to her great weekend at the national championships, her other highlights during the month included winning the women’s category A cross country race on October 1 at the Lindsey Wilson mountain bike race and runner-up finishes in the women’s short track and cross country races on October 7-8 at the Southern Collegiate Cycling Conference (SECCC) Championships. Wenger was also named King University Student Athlete of the Week during the month of October.
