BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has named their student-athletes of the month for the month of January. Hunter LeVeau of the men's basketball team and Ebony Jones of the women’s track and field team took home honors this month.
LeVeau averaged 13.9 points per game, helping King to a 5-4 record for the month of January. The Johnson City, Tenn., native also averaged 5.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. On four different occasions, LeVeau scored better than 20 points, including back-to-back contests against Pfeiffer University and at Barton College. In a win over Pfeiffer he posted 25 points and followed that with 20 points at Barton.
Jones set a pair of personal records for the Tornado and was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Week last month. On January 25, Jones garnered ECAC Rookie of the Week honors after posting her first career long jump over 5.00 meters with a leap of 5.03 meters at the Wake Forest Invitational, giving her a finish of 13th. She also came in with a personal record 200 meter time of 28.34 seconds at the meet.
