BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has named their student-athletes of the month for the month of February, and Kate Rivera of the acrobatics and tumbling team took home honors this month.
Rivera helped the Tornado set a program-best total team score of 267.630, bettering their previous high by more than five points, in their 267.630-264.280 victory over Fairmont State Sunday. She also helped King set a program best in the compulsory event for the second straight meet, competing in all four heats for a total of 37.55 points. King set program highs in both the toss and tumbling compulsory heats, also setting a program best with a tumbling event score of 52.750 as Rivera competed in two tumbling heats. In the team event, King posted their second highest score of 92.98 in program history.
