T.J.- Killelea, Sr.,- Cycling

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has announced its Student-Athletes of the Month. T.J. Killelea, a senior cyclist, and Eliza Parker, a senior women's track and field team member that competes in the distance events, received the honor for the month of February.

Killelea has had a great start to the cycling season, helping position the team for a run at a second consecutive Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference championship. His top performances came in a February race at the University of Florida, where he finished eighth in the road race and fifth in the time trial event. Killelea also volunteered in Camden, N.J. as part of a King spring break mission trip to aid Finish Strong and UrbanPromise, organizations dedicated to serving the needs Camden-area residents.

Parker has had a remarkable season for the Tornado with a number of outstanding performances. She was named Conference Carolinas Women's Track Most Valuable Performer after helping the team to a second-place finish at the conference indoor championships in March. She won the 3,000 meter run by 30 seconds over her next closest competitor, then won the mile and 5,000 meter run with personal records in both events. She was also named an academic all-conference performer.

The cycling team competes at Milligan College before the SECCC championship event in Orlando, Fla. April 12 and 13. The women's track and field team will have three more competitions before competing at the Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championship on April 25 and 26 in Banner Elk, N.C.
