The NCAA publishes a list each year of banned substances.  The list also refers to related compounds.  No substance on the list may be used by an NCAA student-athlete, regardless of whether it is specifically listed as an example.

It is also very important to note that many nutritional and/or dietary supplements contain NCAA banned substances. Also note that the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not strictly regulate the supplement industry and therefore the purity and safety of nutritional dietary supplements cannot be assured.

Impure supplements may lead to a positive NCAA drug test.  Therefore the use of supplements is at the student-athlete's own risk!

You should always discuss with your physician before taking supplements.
