GREENEVILLE, S.C. –
Levi Medford hit a pair of home runs Tuesday afternoon, but the King University baseball team narrowly dropped a nonconference game, 7-6 to Tusculum.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Medford finished the game 2-for-3, with three RBI and four runs scored.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Jose Ruiz was hit by a pitch and stole second, he scored when Nathan Borchardt reached base on a fielding error by the center fielder, giving King a 1-0 lead.
- A short time later, Jacob Eargle drew a bases loaded walk, allowing Medford to score, making it a 2-0 Tornado lead.
- King added two more in the second, as Borchardt hit a two-out double, eventually scoring on a Medford home run to double the lead to 4-0.
- Tusculum responded with six runs in the bottom of the inning, then added one in the third to take a 7-4 advantage.
- In the fifth, Medford drew a walk, eventually advancing to third before Michael Starrs hit a infield single, allowing Medford to score and pulling the Tornado to within 7-5.
- The Tornado got a two-out double from Truman Roper in the eighth, but were unable to capitalize.
- In the ninth, Medford hit his second home run of the game, a solo shot with two outs to make the score 7-6, but the Pioneers were able to hold on for a 7-6 win.
FOR THE FOES
- Caleb Mulcahy was the lone Pioneer to have multiple hits, finishing 2-for-4, with a double.
- Omar Carreras was 1-for-4, with his lone hit being a triple
