Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The King University women's basketball opened the 2025 portion of their schedule with an exhibition game at Division I Wofford College on Saturday afternoon.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
- King struggled in the opening frame but Alayna Smith and Raven Addison got the Tornado on the board.
- Ashley Allen had two steals and a defensive rebound to help on the defensive side of the ball.
Second Quarter
- Mariya Williams opened the King scoring with six points in three possessions.
- Kendall Cross scored a season-high 4 points during the second quarter while Le'Aije Ellington hit a buzzer beater to send the teams to the locker room down 36-20.
- King did bring the competition closer as Wofford just barely outscored them 18-15 in the second period.
Third Quarter
- Both teams were slow on offense in the third quarter, both teams scoring nine points. King's points came from Williams (4), Jaelyn West (2), Addison (2), and a free throw from Allen.
- King had nine rebounds with the Terriers matching that mark.
Fourth Quarter
- In the final quarter, King was outscored 28-9. Jaelyn West scored the final four points with a jumper and two free throws inside the final minute of play.
- Once again, King matched their nine points with nine rebounds, with Allen pulling down three in the final frame.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Mariya Williams scored a team-high 12 points. She also had six total rebounds with five off the defensive glass and grabbed two steals.
- Ashley Allen had eight rebounds and tied her season-high 4 steals.
- Kendall Cross scored a career-high 4 points and Alayna Smith got her first assist of the season.
- King drew 21 fouls compared to 13 committed and slightly outscored Wofford 20-18 inside the paint.
FOR THE FOES
- Wofford was led by Evangelia Paulk (21 points) and Toni Warren (18), together they shot 14-27.
- Molly Masingale was one rebound shy of a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds and dished out a game-high 8 assists. Paulk and Masingale each had five steals.
- The Terriers had 44 rebounds and scored 16 points off of second chances.
