Mikhail Pocknett and
Kenny Turner both scored 18 points to lead the King University men's basketball team to their fifth win in their last six games, 77-74 over visiting North Greenville University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
- Jordan Akal and Turner both hit jumpers in the first minute, putting King in front 4-0 without a full minute coming off the clock.
- The Crusaders then scored the next 10 points, taking a 10-4 lead before Pocknett drew a foul while shooting a three, converting all three shots to make it a 10-7 game.
- North Greenville's lead would reach 24-12 with just over 10 minutes to play, but a jumper by Satchel Love started the Tornado rally.
- King would score the next 11 points, pulling to within 24-23 with 4:00 left to play.
- North Greenville worked the lead to 37-25 with a minute left, but Cam George hit a jumper, then a three at the buzzer to make the score 37-30 entering halftime.
Second Half
- After the Tornado pulled to within 41-40 after consecutive buckets by Akal, North Greenville took a quick 46-40 lead.
- King then scored the next 11 points, including a dunk from Turner that tied the game, eventually taking a 53-48 lead with 11:32 remaining.
- North Greenville tied the score at 59 with just over eight minutes to play, but King would score the next 13 points, with seven of those coming courtesy of Poocknett.
- The Crusaders cut the lead to 74-71 with 48 seconds left, but King went 3-of-5 from the free throw line in the final 48 seconds, hanging on for a 77-74 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Pocknett finished with a double-double, scoring 18 points and pulling 10 rebounds, while Turner finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.
- Eli Elston scored a pair of points and handed out three assists on the game.
- Turner and Akal both had a pair of blocks for King.
FOR THE FOES
- Jacob Brown posted a double-double, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
- Other Crusaders to score in double figures include Caleb Williams (12), CaDarrius Sowell (12), Max Topham (11) and Zak Perdew (10).

- King will be off until a Feb. 10 contest at Chowan University.
