GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The King University baseball team fell on the road Tuesday evening, 9-4 to Tusculum University in a nonconference contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Tusculum started with three runs in the bottom of the first, taking an early 3-0 lead.
- King scored in the second, when Michael Starrs singled up the middle, then stole second base.
- After advancing to third on a groundout, he scored when Garret Huffman singled through the right side, cutting the lead to 3-1.
- The Pioneers then scored four runs in the second, and one more in the third to go ahead 8-1.
- The Tornado added another in the fourth when Conner Hyatt reached base on a wild pitch strike three, stealing second and advancing to third on a wild pitch.
- Hyatt scored when Andrew Bryant hit a sacrifice fly to left field, narrowing the lead to 8-2.
- In the sixth, it was Bryant again who drove in a run, hitting a single to right field, scoring Nathan Borchardt, who had led off the inning with a single.
- Borchardt picked up an RBI of his own in the seventh when he singled up the middle, allowing Josh Nuno to score, bringing King to within 9-4.
- King got runners on base in each of the final two innings, including in the ninth when Evans hit a one-out single, but were unable to score.
FOR THE FOES
- Zach Wilson was 4-for-5, with a double and two runs scored.
- Kayl Ratliff was the other Pioneer to have multiple hits, finishing with two, along with an RBI.
