BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team earned their first series sweep of the season Sunday afternoon, taking two games from Davis & Elkins College. King won the first game 8-2 before winning a 10-2 result in the second game.

SERIES HIGHLIGHTS
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- King started almost immediately, scoring three runs in the first, with Medford hitting an RBI single, followed by Garret Huffman reaching on a fielder's choice, allowing Michael Starrs to score.
- King also used a double steal in the inning to grab another run, taking a 3-0 lead.
- Hyatt singled to left in the second, scoring Corley.
- The Senators scored their runs in the fourth on a single to right center field, which allowed two runs to score, cutting the King lead to 4-2.
- In the bottom of the frame, King responded with three of their own, including a sacrifice bunt by Starrs that allowed Chad Evans to score.
- Borchardt also singled, allowing Hyatt to score, stretching the lead to 7-2.
- Medford added the final run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Starrs.
- Cole Pletcher, who came on in relief of Royal Philo, threw two shutout innings to close the win.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- The Tornado again started the scoring in the bottom of the first, as Evans hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Truman Roper.
- In the second, Corley laid down a sacrifice bunt that resulted in a fielding error, with Starrs scoring to stretch the lead to 2-0.
- Davis & Elkins scored a run in the third, but King added four in the bottom of the frame, with a double steal by Borchardt and Evans, along with a sacrifice fly by Andrew Bryant, making the score 6-1 in favor of King.
- The Senators added another run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly, which King responded to in the bottom, as Starrs scored on a wild pitch while Corley scored on a throwing error by the pitcher, making it an 8-2 lead.
- In the seventh, Joe Uribe had a two-run double to right center field, scoring Bryant and Borchardt.
- Jacob Raguini threw the final four innings, allowing no runs on just two hits to lock down the series sweep.
