BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the second time in as many year,
Katy Neubert of the King University cross country and track & field teams has earned Academic All-American honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC). She senior earned third team honors for the second consecutive year.
Neubert becomes the third Tornado to earn CSC Academic All-America honors twice, joining men's tennis player Moritz Poswiat in 2015-16 and 2016-17 and women's cross country and track & field athlete Hannah Witt in 2012-13 and 2013-14.
Neubert, a senior from Johnson City, Tenn., graduated with a degree in Cell & Molecular Biology while carrying a 4.0 GPA. Earlier this year she became the second Tornado to earn Conference Carolinas' most prestigious award, the Murphy Osborne Award. She has earned two Conference Carolinas Elite 23 awards in cross country and one more in outdoor track & field along it academic all-conference honors.
This season she helped the distance medley relay team set a school record and finish third at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships. She also finished third in the 800 meters during the outdoor championships, marking the third time in her career she earned all-conference honors in the event after finishing first in each of her first two seasons.
