Warren Davis and
Jack Sarnowski of the King University men's volleyball team have been named the Conference Carolinas Player and Specialist of the Week for their performances last week.
Davis, a junior from Mansfield, Texas, posted 18 kills and three blocks, along with four digs in a 3-0 win over Barton Friday night. Saturday in a five-set thriller over Mount Olive, he also had 18 kills, with 15 digs, which is the eighth double-double of the season for Davis. This is the fourth time this season he has garnered a weekly honor from the conference office.
Sarnowski, a senior from Winter Springs, Fla., averaged 12.13 assists, 1.75 digs and 0.75 blocks per set. He handed out 40 assists and added four digs and four blocks in the sweep of the Bulldogs, before picking up his first career double-double Saturday, with 57 assists and a career-high 10 digs in the five-set win over Mount Olive. This is his first weekly honor of the season, and the sixth of his career.
The Tornado have one final regular season matchup remaining before the Conference Carolinas tournament, and it will be April 13 when they host Blue Ridge Cup rivals Lees-McRae. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside the Student Center Complex.
