BRISTOL, Tenn. – Three members of the King University acrobatics & tumbling team were recognized by Conference Carolinas when the league announced their regular season award winners.
Bridget Sweeney and
Alexis Wynn were selected first team all-conference while
Kharissa Norvell garnered second team honors.
Sweeney, a freshman, garners all-conference honors for the first time in her career. She competed in 11 heats throughout the season, including nine in all 11 meets, competed in one in 10 meets. She was a member the group that posted the fourth perfect score in program history, the open pyramid. The Royersford, Pa. native helped the Tornado to 10 heat season-high heat scores and five event season-high scores.
Wynn earns first team all-conference honors for the second time in her career. The junior also earned first team all-conference recognition as a freshman in 2021. This season she competed in five heats in all 11 meets for the Tornado. In all, the Waynesville, Ohio native appeared in 10 different heats throughout the season. In all, Wynn helped the Tornado set eight season-high scores this season.
Norvell, a senior, earns all-conference honors for the first time. The Moro, Ill. native helped the Tornado to nine season-high heat scores as she competed in 13 different heats throughout the season. She competed in three compulsory heats, acro, toss and tumbling in every meet as well as toss heat 2 and tumbling trio pass and aerial pass. In the tumbling event, Norvell posted a season-high score of 8.700 in the trio pass and registered an aerial pass season-high of 9.350 twice.
