WISE, Va. – The King University softball team posted a pair of wins on Tuesday at regional rival UVA Wise. King used solid pitching to take game one 5-0 before registering 15 hits to win game two 8-3.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Jessica Campbell posted six hits on the day, including a home run and Lauren Lawson laced a home run.
- Lawson scored three times and drove in two on the day.
- Camryn Haag posted four hits and drove in one on the day.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Cavaliers threatened with a pair of hits in the bottom of the first inning, but the Tornado turned a double play to escape the inning.
- King loaded the bases in the third inning, but couldn't push across a run as the contest remained scoreless.
- An Erin Foster sacrifice fly scored Lawson and gave King the lead in the sixth inning.
- A groundout from Lilly Million later gave King a 2-0 lead.
- UVA Wise loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth inning, but Madison Walter came in and struck out three straight batters to keep the Tornado in the lead.
- A passed ball scored a run for the Tornado in the seventh before Lawson laced a two-run home run to give King a 5-0 lead.
- Walter then got two more strikeouts in the seventh, giving King the 5-0 win.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- UVA Wise took a 1-0 lead three batters into the game, following a walk, single and a double.
- A bases loaded walk gave UVA Wise a 2-0 lead in the second, but Counts got out of the jam to leave the bases loaded.
- Campbell ripped a two-run home run in the third, evening the score at two.
- A Haag double scored Foster, giving Kin ga 3-2 lead in the fourth inning.
- A pair of singles extended the King lead before a Million two-run double gave the Tornado a 7-2 advantage in the fifth inning.
- In the seventh inning, Tinsley Thompson added a run with a double that scored Baillie Murray and gave King an 8-2 lead.
- The Cavaliers added a run in the bottom of the seventh, but Counts got out of the inning, giving King the 8-3 win.
