BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team fell to North Greenville 3-1 Tuesday night in a road Conference Carolinas matchup despite
Warren Davis posting another double-double, this time finishing with 19 kills and 10 digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- The Crusaders jumped in front early, taking a 13-4 lead.
- A kill from Davis would start a 3-0 King scoring run that got them to within 13-7.
- After North Greenville extended the lead to 18-9, the Tornado would pull to within 18-11 before the Crusaders pulled out a 25-16 win.
Second Set
- King started the second set by taking an 8-3 lead.
- After NGU got to within 13-10, Jackson Carroll would pick up a kill that started what would turn out to be a 4-0 Tornado scoring run that opened up a 17-10 advantage.
- A North Greenville service error would put King in front 24-18 before NGU scored four in a row to get to within 24-22.
- The Tornado would close the set on a Carroll kill, taking the set 25-22 and pulling even in the match.
Third Set
- After King took an early 4-3 lead, the Crusaders tied the set at 4, before taking a lead, which would reach 7-4.
- Aaron Milstead had a kill to bring the Tornado to within 7-5 before NGU scored four of the next five points to take a 11-6 advantage.
- King was able to keep the score close, eventually tying the set at 15.
- North Greenville would eventually take a 22-19 lead before King scored three straight points, tying the set at 22.
- Following a Crusaders timeout, the Tornado scored consecutive points, going ahead 24-22 before North Greenville scored the final four points, winning 26-24.
Fourth Set
- North Greenville used a 5-0 scoring run to open up an early 8-4 lead.
- After the lead reached 11-5, King would use an attack error to kickstart a 3-0 scoring run, pulling to within 11-9.
- The Crusaders eventually worked their way to a 17-12 lead, but King would score six of the next seven points to tie the score at 18.
- King would take a 20-19 lead, but the Crusaders closed the match by winning seven of the final 10 points to take the set 26-24, and the match 3-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Davis posted a double-double, finishing with 19 kills and 10 digs.
- Kellan Kennedy added 11 kills, with Carroll contributing eight on seven digs.
- Kennedy also had six block assists on the night.
FOR THE FOES
- Diego Roisch and Mark Autry both had 13 attacks for North Greenville, with Autry adding nine digs.
- Luke Densmore had three service aces.
UP NEXT
- It's a short turnaround for the Tornado, who will face Emmanuel Thursday and Erskine Friday in a pair of road contests.
- North Greenville will play at Mount Olive Friday night.
