BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team finished the weekend sweep of UVA Wise, taking both ends of Sunday's doubleheader. The Tornado held on to take game one 11-9 before coming back to win game two 3-2 behind three runs in the fifth inning.

SERIES HIGHLIGHTS
- Preston Steele posted four hits on the day, including a 3-for-5 performance in game one with three runs batted in.
- Garret Huffman went 3-for-3 o the day with three runs scored, three runs batted in and two walks.
- On the mound, starting pitchers Jakob Brown and Grant Carlton tossed a combined 10.2 innings as Carlton earned his first career win. He allowed two runs on six hits in 5.2 innings.
- Truman Roper drove in a pair of runs while Levi Medford and Conner Hyatt accounted for two hits and two runs each.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Tornado took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when they scored two runs on a Cavalier defensive miscue.
- UVA Wise returned the favor, scoring once on a defensive error in the third inning to cut their deficit in half.
- Huffman worked a bases loaded walk in the third before Roper drove in another with a sacrifice fly.
- Steele then came up with a two-run double down the left field line, giving King a 6-1 lead.
- King extended the lead to 11-2 with five runs on five straight at bats, four hits and one ground out in the fifth inning.
- However, the Cavaliers scored six runs in the sixth inning, taking advantage of Tornado defensive miscues to pull within 11-8.
- UVA Wise added another run in the seventh inning, but Ray Berry got a looking strikeout to end the game and give King the 11-9 victory.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- UVA Wise took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, scoring the first run on a Gavin Birkhimer single and the other on a Tornado defensive error.
- The scored remained the same until the fifth inning when Mason Swartz drew a walk to ignite the Tornado offense.
- Jace Spivey was then hit by a pitch before a Huffman single scored Swartz and got the Tornado on the board.
- Following a walk and a pitching change, Steele drove in a run with a single to first base, evening the score at two.
- Renwick then beat out what would have been a double play to end the inning, allowing the go-ahead run to score.
- Carlton got the first two outs of the sixth inning before he was replaced by Miguel Rosado who got a strikeout to end the inning.
- Rosado then retired the side in order in the seventh, giving King the 3-2 victory.

FOR THE FOES
- Matt Frye posted four hits while Nick Badgett registered three hits and three runs scored on the day.
- Jeb Hurst recorded two hits in game one while Justin Reed and Cole Harness drove in two runs each.

- King is in action again on February 14 against Emory & Henry College. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
- UVA Wise travels to Augusta University on Saturday and Sunday.
