FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The King University baseball team dropped a pair of tight Conference Carolinas contests on Saturday at Emmanuel College. Only four runs were scored in the doubleheader as both pitching staffs threw well, however, the Tornado were on the short end both times. Emmanuel won game one 3-0 before taking game two 1-0.

SERIES HIGHLIGHTS
- Garret Huffman and Conner Hyatt each posted two hits in game one.
- The Tornado received four hits from four individuals in game two.
- King starting pitchers, Grant Carlton and Drew Moore combined to throw 13.0 innings and allow three runs on seven hits.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- King had runners on second and third in each of the first two innings, but the Lions got out of the jam each time.
- Hyatt started the second inning with a single before a Chase Hilliard double. However, the Lions got the next three outs to end the inning.
- Emmanuel took the lead two batters in following a single and a double.
- A groundout later in the inning gave Emmanuel a 2-0 lead.
- A pair of singles for Emmanuel in the eighth inning extended the Lion lead to 3-0.
- In the ninth, King had a pair of baserunners, but couldn't push a run across as Emmanuel took the contest 3-0.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Both teams threatened in the first as Junior Renwick reached on an infield single before the Lions had two baserunners in the bottom of the inning.
- A pair of singles and an error gave the Lions a 1-0 run in the second inning.
- That was the only blemish on Moore's line as he only allowed one more hit the rest of the game.
- However, the Tornado couldn't get their offense going as Simon Boggie held the King hitters down.
- King posted one base runner in three different innings, but couldn't string anything together as Emmanuel took the contest 1-0.
