BOONE, N.C. – The King University women's cross country team turned in another solid performance to start the season.
Ashley Doyle again led the Tornado, finishing 24th in a deep NCAA Division I field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Doyle finished in 18:37.82 to lead the Tornado.
- In her first collegiate race, Tea Troche-Jones came in 33rd with a time of 18:58.17.
- Mandy Lowery came in next for the Tornado with a time of 19:38.11.
- Emily Ward wasn't far behind with a time of 19:46.72.
- Katy Neubert rounded out the team as she crossed the finish line in 21:35.69.
FOR THE FOES
- Charlotte won the event while Appalachian State University finished second.
- Molly Jones of Coastal Carolina University won the event with a time of 17:26.82.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Doyle set a personal record, lowering her previous best of 19:07.2 set last season.

- The Tornado are in action again on October 7 at the Royals Challenge. The meet is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, N.C.
