TIGERVILLE, S.C. – The King University baseball team dropped the opening game of their Conference Carolinas series Friday afternoon to 11th ranked North Greenville University, 11-1.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
HOW IT HAPPENED
- North Greenville jumped onto the scoreboard early, scoring in each of the first five innings, including a five-run first inning.
- King scored their first run in the third, with Junior Renwick taking the first pitch of the inning and hitting a home run to left-center field, making the score 6-1 in favor of the Crusaders.
- The Tornado would eventually load the bases, but were unable to score again, as a double play ended the inning.
- Luke Hale was able to shut down the North Greenville offense in the sixth, allowing a two-out single but holding the Crusaders off the scoreboard, with a strikeout looking to end the inning.
- King picked up a baserunner in the ninth when Petie Pavusek drew a two-out walk, but he was unable to come around and score.
FOR THE FOES
- Ethan Stringer and Marek Chulep both had three hits for the Crusaders, with Chulup picking up two doubles and a pair of RBI.
- Jax Cash got the win, throwing four innings, allowing one earned run on three hits.
