BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team closed their home schedule on Wednesday with a nonconference contest against Mars Hill University. The Lions took the lead early, and King was unable to recover as the Tornado fell 10-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mars Hill grabbed the lead on a two-run home run from Paul Martin in the second inning.
- The Lions struck with the longball again in the third inning when Zach Weaver hit a grand slam to extend the Tornado deficit to 6-0.
- Hilliard walked and Hutcherson followed with a single through the left side to start a Tornado rally I the third inning.
- Hilliard scored on a Thomas groundout, cutting the King deficit to 6-1.
- In the fourth inning, Hilliard drove in Connor Andrews, who walked earlier in the inning to pull King within 6-2.
- However, Mars Hill scored four runs in the eighth, highlighted by a two-run single from Chapel Matson, extending their lead to 10-2.
- Graham ripped a leadoff home run in the ninth, but that was all the Tornado could score as Mars Hill won the contest 10-3.

- Weaver drove in five on two hits and scored twice.
- Paul Martin posted two hits and drove in two.
- Matson drove in a pair while Alex Naran and Trey Putnam collected two hits each.
