MARS HILL, N.C. — The King University baseball team dropped a nonconference contest Tuesday afternoon, 16-1 to Mars Hill University.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Robbie Scott went 2-for-3, with a stolen base and a triple to lead the King offense.
- Connor Andrews was 1-for-1, while also drawing two walks.
- Tanner Hunley made his second appearance of the season on the mound, throwing a scoreless inning, with one strikeout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions jumped out to a lead in the third on a two-run home run.
- Scott led off the fourth inning with a triple into the right-center field gap before Andrews drew one of his walks to put runners on the corners.
- Davis Hall grounded out, with Andrews moving to second for Derek Martin.
- He struck out swinging, and was thrown out at first, with Scott scoring on the throw to cut the lead to 2-1.
- Mars Hill would score six runs in the fourth before blowing things open in the sixth, where they scored six runs to take a 14-1 lead.
- King got a pair of base runners in the sixth, as Junior Renwick and Andrews both singled down the right field line, with Renwick advancing to third before a groundout ended the inning.
FOR THE FOES
- Scottie Lee was 3-for-5, with five RBI and two runs scored for the Lions.
- Ruben Trillo went 3-for-3, with three runs scored and four RBI.
- Cody Bruns and Kannon Coates both threw scoreless innings, with Bruns walking one batter.
