CENTRAL, S.C. – The King University women's volleyball team beat conference opponent Southern Wesleyan 3-1 Saturday afternoon.
Hailee Blankenship was one of three Tornado to have double digit kills, along with
Abigale Jayne and
Gracia Love.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Southern Wesleyan took a 9-7 lead, before the Tornado scored four consecutive points to go ahead 11-9.
- After the Tornado stretched their lead to 16-13, the Warriors tied the set at 16.
- It would be back and forth until the Tornado took a 24-23 lead off a kill from Blankenship.
- The Tornado took the first set after Kara Miller and Jayne teamed up for a block,
Second Set
- The Tornado dominated the set, with Katie Harless getting a service ace after a pair of Jayne kills.
- After extending the lead to 7-2, King would score the next six points to go ahead 13-2.
- Love recorded three straight kills to make the King lead 22-7 before a service error gave the Warriors a point.
- The Tornado would score the final three points, with Jayne and Blankenship recording kills, wit a block by Chloe Clayton and Blankenship as well.
Third Set
- Southern Wesleyan took an early 4-3 lead, eventually stretching it to 11-6.
- The Tornado got to within 16-11 after a kill from Blankenship and a Southern Wesleyan attack error.
- The Warriors would eventually go on to win the set 25-15.
Fourth Set
- The Tornado took an early 5-3 lead, before the Warriors tied the set at eight.
- SWU would eventually go ahead 15-10 before the Tornado started their rally.
- King would eventually tie the set at 17 on an ace from Blankenship before going ahead 18-17 off an attack error.
- After the set was tied at 19, the Tornado scored four straight points to go ahead 23-19.
- After an attack error, Love and Harless would record consecutive kills to hand king a 25-20 set win, and a 3-1 match win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Blankenship recorded another double-double, finishing with 19 kills and 15 digs.
- Jayne finished with 15 kills, with Love adding 12 and five digs.
- Harless handed out 30 assists, with Kylie Love adding 17 and Gabri Puertas contributing eight.
FOR THE FOES
- Gavirelle Elswick led the Southern Wesleyan attack with 12 kills, while Amer Bass finished with 17 digs and seven kills.
- Elswick also had five blocks to lead the Warriors.
