BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team fell to McKendree University in three sets Friday night.
Suetonius Harris led the Tornado attack with nine kills while also contributing three digs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- The Bearcats started the match on a 5-0 run before Warren Davis recorded a kill to get King on the board.
- King and McKendree would then trade points until the Bearcats scored back-to-back pints to take a 12-5 lead.
- The Bearcats ended the set on a 13-6 run, with Hoffman picking up a kill and Jackson Carroll recording an ace, making it 23-11 before a pair of Tornado attack errors gave McKendree a 25-11 set win.
Second Set
- McKendree scored the first four points of the second set before Carroll picked up a kill, which was followed by JT Deppe hitting a service ace, cutting the lead to 4-2.
- After the Bearcats stretched the lead to 9-6, King started to rally back, trading points with the Bearcats before back-to-back points to get to within 12-11.
- Aaron Milstead and Harris would record a block to pull King even, but McKendree then scored six consecutive points, opening up a 17-12 advantage.
- The Tornado got to within 21-17 thanks to back-to-back kills from Hoffman and Carroll, then scored three straight points while down to set point, but McKendree pulled out the set, 24-20.
Third Set
- The third set was back-and-forth early, with King and McKendree trading points until the Bearcats scored back-to-back points to take a 6-4 lead.
- After a series of errors, McKendree scored three straight points, stretching the lead to 10-6.
- After the Bearcats opened up a 21-12 lead, the Tornado scored a pair of points to cut the lead to 21-14.
- The Tornado attempted to mount a comeback, but the Bearcats were able to hang on for a 15-18 win.

- Harris had nine kills for the Tornado, along with three digs.
- Deppe had 14 assists and seven digs.
- Noah Melendez had eight digs..
FOR THE FOES
- Patrick Ross had 13 kills for McKendree, with Ethan Carroll adding 12.
- Ryan Serrano finished with 37 assists
UP NEXT
- The Tornado are back in action Saturday night when they host 11th-ranked Loyola University Chicago at 8 p.m.
- McKendree will head to Harrogate, Tenn. to take on a Lincoln Memorial team who upset Loyola Friday night.
