BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University baseball team dropped a pair of Conference Carolinas contests against Erskine College on Saturday. The Flying Fleet took the doubleheader, winning game one 1-0 and game two 12-6.

SERIES HIGHLIGHTS
- Austin Meyer tallied a pair of hits on the day while driving in two runs.
- The duo of Junior Renwick and Bennett McCann produced identical outings as each player registered two hits, one of which was a double. They each drove in a run while also scoring once.
- Jarrett Backus added a hit, driving in one as well.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Both teams started off by trading perfect halves of the first two innings.
- The first hit of the contest came from Erskine's Tariq Bacon in the top of the third.
- The Tornado picked up a pair of hits in the bottom half of the third via Harrison Barger and David Carnicella but failed to score.
- King left two on base again in the bottom of the fourth, still unable to crack the scoreboard.
- The lone run of game one came in the top of the sixth inning after Reinoso singled to center field.
- Just one hit in the bottom half of inning number six and seven was not enough as the Tornado fell by one in the first game of the afternoon.
- Landon Dennis of Erskine and Drew Moore put on a pitching clinic for the majority of the game as the two combined for just nine hits.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- In contrast to a low-scoring first game, the first at bat of game two did damage to the scoreboard as a solo shot from Dalton Boyd put the Flying Fleet up 1-0 early on.
- King leveled things up in the bottom of the third after McCann singled through the left side to bring in Carnicella.
- Erskine responded with a three-run bomb in the top of the fourth to regain the advantage, 4-1.
- Reinoso put the game out of reach in the top of the fifth with a grand slam over the left field wall.
- King made a late push, starting with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. It started when Renwick singled up the middle to bring home Truman Roper
- Meyer then slapped a double to center field during the next at bat to drive in McCann and Renwick.
- Backus brought in Meyer to put a stamp on the four-run inning for the Tornado.
- The Tornado snagged another run in the bottom of the seventh after Meyer scored again, trimming the deficit to 8-6.
- That was as close as the game would be as the Flying Fleet registered three runs in the top of the eighth.
- Reinoso drove in one final run for Erskine to put the finishing touches on his impressive day and the Flying Fleet's sweep of King.

FOR THE FOES
- Dayan Reinoso posted four hits on the day, driving six runs. He had one home run and one double over the course of the afternoon.
- Drew Yniesta added three hits as he also scored a trio of runs.
UP NEXT
- King travels to UVA Wise on Tuesday for a non-conference matchup with the Cavaliers.
- Erskine returns home to host Chowan in a four-game series that starts Friday.
