BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University women's soccer team put together a solid effort on Sunday afternoon against Erskine College. The Tornado didn't find the back of the net, but their defense was just as stingy as the teams played to a 0-0 draw.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The contest was a defensive struggle as shots were hard to come by, especially shots on goal.
- In the opening 45 minutes, the Tornado defense held Erskine to two shots while King ripped four shots on the offensive end.
- Anya Gross had the first scoring opportunity with a shot on goal in the 15th minute, but it was turned away by the Flying Fleet goalkeeper Cheyanne Fuller.
- Three minutes later, Megan Brody had a chance, but her shot was again turned away.
- In the 36th minute, Brody took a penalty kick as she tried to beat the keeper to the lower left corner. However, her shot went off the post, keeping the game scoreless.
- Neither of the shots from Erskine were on goal as the game remained scoreless at the break.
- In the second half, the Erskine offense tried to pressure the Tornado defense, taking eight shots, by only one was on target.
- In the opening minute of the second half, Lucy Barrientos came up with a save to keep the Flying Fleet off the board.
- In the 51st minute, Mackenzie Winters had an opportunity for the Tornado, but that shot was turned away by Fuller.
- The Tornado defense forced the Erskine shots to miss the net for the remainder of the period, and the offense couldn't punch one across as the contest went to overtime.
- Both defenses were tough in the first 10 minutes, holding the opponent without a shot as the game went to a second overtime.
- Erskine had the only shot of the second overtime, coming in the 107th minute as Barrientos came up with the save, sending the Tornado and Flying Fleet to a 0-0 tie.

- Gross, Brody and Winters all posted shots on goal for the Tornado.
- Barrientos made two saves for the shutout.
- King earned three corner kicks in the contest.
FOR THE FOES
- Erskine registered 11 shots and five corner kicks in the game, placing two shots on goal.
- Fuller made three saves in goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This is the first tie for the Tornado since 2017 when they played to a 0-0 draw with Mars Hill University.
