BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team opened their home schedule on Sunday with a pair of solid wins over UVA Wise. The Tornado took game one 3-2 on a walk-off double from
Rikkelle Miller before taking game two 3-1.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Carly Turner went 5-for-6 at the plate with one home run and drove in three.
- In the circle, Turner recorded 12 strikeouts in game two, allowing one run on five hits.
- Meagan Puckett and Miller posted three hits each as Miller ripped a pair of doubles.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- UVA Wise started with a double from Kara Long, but Nikole Counts countered as she struck out the side to strand a pair of Cavaliers on the base paths.
- The Cavaliers got on the board in the third with a two-out single by Kaylee Jones that scored two.
- Camryn Haag started the bottom of the third with a single and later scored on Turner's home run to left field that evened the score at 2-2.
- Both teams threatened with a pair of runners in the fifth, but they were left stranded.
- UVA Wise also left two runners stranded in the sixth and seventh innings as Counts was able to get out of every jam all day long.
- In the bottom of the seventh, Puckett ripped a one-out double, and after a groundout, Miller came to the plate.
- Miller came up with a double, scoring Puckett and giving King the 3-2 victory.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- The Cavaliers loaded the bases in the first inning, but Turner got out of the jam as she struck out the side.
- Turner again stranded a pair of Cavaliers on the base paths in the second inning before King got on the board in the third inning.
- Puckett laced a two-out triple that scored Haylee Dye and later scored on a Turner single, giving King a 2-0 lead.
- UVA Wise cut their deficit in half when Sarah Barrett stole home.
- King got that run back in the sixth inning, and it looked like that insurance run would be big.
- The Cavaliers put two bases runners on in the seventh and sacrificed them to second and third.
- However, Turner struck out the final two batters, giving King the 3-1 victory.
