GAFNEY, Sc. – The King University women's wrestling team had an incredible showing at their final dual of the season against Limestone University this afternoon. The Tornado rolled through Gafney with a commanding 44-3 victory. This year the Tornado boast a complete lineup of nationally ranked wrestlers and have an eye on the post season set to begin next weekend. Could this be the year King wrestling returns to it's former glory?

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Deja Heatley and Samantha Larsen both received forfeits at 101 and 109 pounds to give King an early lead
- Melanie Mendoza would be the first to action at 116 pounds where she also cashed in maximum bonus points with a first period pin
- At 123 pounds Makayla Welch had an extremely close match with several lead changes but would lose by decision 13-9
- No. 2 Allison Petix dominated the hand fight early with three takedowns and a push out. She would walk away with an 11-0 tech fall at 130 pounds.
- At 136 and 143 pounds No. 5 Phoenix Dubose and No. 3 Ana Luciano received forfeits
- At 155 pounds No. 3 Tory Torres cruised to victory with a another 10-0 Tornado tech fall
- At 170 and 191 pounds No. 5 Nia Crosdale and No. 2 Tavi Heidelberg both received forfeits to conclude the contest

- The Tornado will travel to the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Regional Championships on February 20th. Action is set to begin at 9AM
