QUEENS, N.C. -- Four Tornado set personal records Friday night at the Royals Challenge, led by
Ashley Doyle, who crossed the line in 19:07.9 to lead King.
THE BASICS
KING RESULTS: 24th out of 29 (15th out of 17 Division II)
LOCATION: McAlpine Creek Park; Charlotte, N.C.
DISTANCE: 5k
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Doyle's finish set a new personal best, eclipsing her previous PR, which she set two weeks ago on the same course. This is the third straight race she has set a personal best.
- Meg Davis crossed the line in 19:43.8 to place 147th, smashing her previous PR by over 40 seconds.
- Destiny Haller also set a personal best, finishing in 19:44.2 to place 148th, barley behind Davis.
- Grayson Howe crossed the line in 20:47.5, also setting a new personal best.Â
- Katy Neubert rounded out the Tornado contingent, finishing in 21:08.1.
FOR THE FOES
- Mackenna Curtis-Collins of Malone won the race, being the only runner to cross the line in under 17 minutes, clocking in at 16:59.5.
- Cedarville won the team title in the Gold Division, followed by Milligan, College of Charleston, Davidson and Molone.

- The next time that King hits the course winn be Oct. 23 when they compete in the Conference Carolinas Championship hosted by Mount Olive.Â
