Box Score HONOLULU, Hawaii – For the second straight day, the King University men's volleyball team squared off with a top 10 team at the Outrigger Resorts Invitational. The Tornado fell 3-0 to sixth-ranked Pepperdine University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- The Tornado held the advantage early in the first set, taking a 4-3 lead following kills from Sean Kohlhase, Joshua Kim and Suetonius Harris.
- The Waves used a 4-0 run to gain separation and take a 16-12 lead.
- However, King came back with three straight points, capped by kills from Dalton Johnson and Kohlhase.
- King couldn't get back to even, however, as Pepperdine held their advantage to take the 25-21 victory.
- King hit .444 in the set, but Pepperdine posted a blistering .500 with 21 kills in the opening frame.
Second Set
- King again got off to a good start in the second set and opened up a 7-4 lead on a kill from King.
- The Tornado later led 11-8 before the Waves went on a 7-1 run to open up a 15-12 lead.
- Pepperdine kept the offense rolling with five consecutive points as the Waves went on to take the set 25-16.
Third Set
- Chandler Christy gave King a 6-5 lead in the third set with one of his three kills in the match.
- The early part of the set was tight, but Pepperdine pulled away five straight points that opened up a 17-11 advantage.
- The Tornado couldn't come back as Pepperdine took the set 25-18 and the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Kohlhase led King with nine kills and hit .500.
- Kim followed with seven kills and a .308 attack percentage.
- Christy handed out 19 assists and Noah Melendez added four digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Clay Carr and Kaleb Denmark led Pepperdine with 12 kills apiece.
- Robert Mullahey handed out 37 assists to go along with five digs.
- Ben Weinberg also posted five digs.

- King takes on 15th-ranked Ball State University on Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. (ET) to close the tournament.
