Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team earned a Conference Carolinas victory on Saturday afternoon in the Student Center Complex. Sean Kohlhase hit .500 in the 3-0 victory over Belmont Abbey College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- A block from Dalton Johnson and Chandler Christy broke a tie and started a 3-0 run that gave King an 8-5 lead.
- The Tornado advantage grew to 12-7 before the Crusaders called for timeout.
- King held their lead there the remainder of the set before Kohlhase gave King the 25-20 win with his fifth kill of the opening set.
Second Set
- The Tornado used a 5-1 run started by consecutive kills from Kohlhase to take a 6-4 lead in the second stanza.
- Later, King scored four straight points to open up a 17-13 advantage and force a Belmont Abbey timeout.
- The Crusaders tried to make a run and pull within 23-22 before Joshua Kim came up with a kill as King took the set 25-22.
Third Set
- King started the third set with a 5-0 deficit and trailed 11-4 before Kohlhase got the offense going with a kill.
- In all, the Tornado scored eight of 10 points to pull within 13-12.
- Johnson later started a 3-0 run with a kill. He and Kohlhase followed with a block that gave King the lead before a block from Christy forced a Crusader timeout.
- The score was again even at 20 before King scored back-to-back points.
- A block from JT Deppe, Johnson and Suetonius Harris capped a 3-0 run that gave King the 25-21 and 3-0 victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Kohlhase led King with 13 kills and hit .500 in the match. He also accounted for five digs.
- Julian Young, Harris and Johnson all followed with four kills. Johnson added six block assists.
- Christy handed out 24 assists and added five digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Liam Maxwell led Belmont Abbey with 19 kills.
- Brian Long followed with seven kills.
- Brennan Davis posted 36 assists and added six digs.
UP NEXT
- King travels to Lincoln Memorial University on Tuesday night. First serve from Harrogate, Tenn., is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
- Belmont Abbey hosts NJIT on Monday afternoon.
