Hebbel leads three Tornado selected All-Conference Carolinas

2017 All-Conference Carolinas Selections

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Prior to the start of the Conference Carolinas Championship, the league announced their All-Conference Carolinas performers and three Tornado were selected. Fiona Hebbel garnered first team accolades while Daphne Chang was named second team and Nicola Robertson earned third team recognition.

Hebbel, a freshman earns all-conference honors for the first time, earning first team recognition. She leads the Tornado with a stroke average of 77.63 and has finished in the top 10 three times, including once as individual medalist. The Leverkusen, Germany native posted her low round of the year, three-under 70 in the second round of the Agnes McAmis Memorial to win the event by seven strokes as she was the only player under par. In the tournament she shot one-under 143, her career low tournament. She started her career with a second place finish at the Etowah Intercollegiate and followed that with a third place finish at the King University Invitational.

Chang earns All-Conference Carolinas accolades for the first time, being selected to the second team. On the season, the Taiwan City, Taiwan native posted two top 10 finishes, including one in the top five. Chang finished sixth at the season-opening Etowah Intercollegiate and later took third at the Converse Spring Invite. Her low tournament score of 150 came at the Pfeiffer Invitational where she carded her low round of the season, 74. She ranks second on the team behind Hebbel with a stroke average of 78.69.

Robertson garners All-Conference Carolinas accolades for the third time in her career, being selected to the third team. Last season she earned first team accolades and in 2014-15 she garnered third team honors. This season the Perthshire, Scotland native averages 79.19 strokes per round, ranking her third on the team. She has posted a pair of top 10 finishes and her low round of one-under 71 came in the second round of the Patsy Rendleman Invitational where she finished sixth. Robertson opened the season with an eighth place finish at the Etowah Intercollegiate. Her low tournament score of 149 came at the Pfeiffer Invitational where she finished 11th.

The Conference Carolinas Championship continues Tuesday and concludes on Wednesday at Cutter Creek Golf Course in Snow Hill, N.C.
