Box Score BRISTOL, Tenn. – Playing their fourth straight home game, the King University women's basketball team took the University of Mount Olive in a contest that saw the Trojans come back late and steal a victory in the Student Center Complex. Mount Olive grabbed their first lead of the game with seven minutes remaining and took the contest 70-67.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Whitney Mitchell started the contest on the attack for the Tornado, knocking down a three-point basket and converted a three-point play to give King a 6-0 lead in the first three minutes.
- Mount Olive used an 8-0 to take a 14-11 lead over the middle part of the first quarter before Kristen Cupples sparked the King offense with a triple.
- Sydney Harris then nailed another trifecta before Sheena Johnson closed the scoring in the quarter with a three-point play, giving King a 20-14 lead after one.
- Mitchell made it an 11-0 King run with a pair of free throws to start the second quarter.
- King grabbed their largest lead of the first half at 30-18 following an Arnelle Collins three-point basket.
- However, the Trojans answered with a 7-0 run to cut their deficit to 32-37 with four minutes left in the quarter.
- Brittany Stringer and Mitchell teamed up for back-to-back buckets, the second a triple from Mitchell, extending the King lead back to 10.
- Mitchell gave King a 40-30 at halftime when she sunk a free throw in the final 10 seconds.
- The Tornado grabbed their largest lead of the game at 47-34 following buckets from Collins and Mitchell, the latter coming with six minutes left in the quarter.
- Mount Olive scored six straight points before Madison Davis made two free throws to give King a 52-46 lead after three quarters.
- The Trojans then scored the first six points of the second half to even the score at 52-52.
- Stringer tried to get the momentum back on the Tornado side when she drilled a three-point basket.
- However, Mount Olive answered with back-to-back buckets to gain their first lead of the game at 56-55 with seven minutes remaining.
- The Trojans extended their lead to 65-59 with two minutes remaining, but King came back with four straight points from Mitchell and Amy Van Deventer.
- King later trailed 69-67 with 12 seconds left, but the Tornado couldn't get back to even as the Trojans took the 70-67 victory.
- Mitchell led the Tornado with 24 points and seven rebounds.
- Collins followed with 10 points while Van Deventer chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.
FOR THE FOES
- Arieal Johnson posted 19 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Trojans.
- Felicity Havens followed with 18 points to go along with six rebounds.
- Ni'ya Stiles chipped in with 17 points.
BEYCOND THE BOX SCORE
- Mitchell posted a career-high with 24 points, bettering her previous career-high of 17 set last January. She also snared a season-high seven rebounds, one off of her career-high.
